What are the benefits of being smack dab in the middle of the United States of America? Being located on Interstates 70 and 35, make for easy east-west and north-south access to anywhere in North America. Allowing carriers to get to a majority of the USA population in a two-day truck drive.

Not to mention the second largest rail network, Port KC, new airport and Kansas City Southern “the Nafta railroad”, with routes that run north to south, linking Canada to Mexico.

Whether it is B2B, B2C, or C2C Kansas City is the best place for your item to be stored, distributed, or fulfilled. 

2: AI Manufacturing

Kansas City is positioned to be major player in the manufacturing industry. An abundance of undeveloped land with the geographical location of KC make it an ideal location to set up an automated manufacturing plant.

As the cost of building robots that can learn simple 10-step repetitive actions become cheaper, the assembly line job will soon become extinct, I don’t care how strong your union is.

3: Tech

LaunchCode, Think Big Partners, KC Startup Village, KCSourceLink, Kauffman Foundation, and much more are charging the lead in supporting anyone with a startup tech idea, one of these are bound to be a hit.

My personal opinion is that the next snapchat, twitter, instagram won’t come out of the midwest. Perhaps integrating tech with our traditionally prominent industries (agriculture, engineering, service).
